Berhalter has named his USA squad ahead of the friendly with Switzerland and the CONCACAF Nations League semi-final clash with Honduras. The latest USA squad of players will then face the winner of the other CONCACAF Nations League semi-final clash between Mexico and Costa Rica in the final if they see off Honduras before facing Costa Rica in a post-tournament friendly. Potentially, the USA team could play four high profile games this summer starting with the Switzerland game on May 30.

Pulisic and Steffen have been left out of the squad due to their Champions League commitment. The two players are expected to feature in the squad of their respective teams in the Champions League final at the EstadioDragaoin Oporto, Portugal on May 29, a day before the Switzerland game.

Steffen is almost certain to start the Champions League final on the Manchester City bench with first choice goalkeeper EdersonMoraes expected to be in goal for the newly crowned English champions. For Pulisic, the former Borussia Dortmund player could still make the starting XI depending on the tactics that Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel tries to use in the final. Either way, Pulisic or Steffen will end the season as Champions League winners.

West London giants Chelsea are searching for their second title in the history of the Champions League having won it in 2012 by beating German Bundesliga club Bayern Munich in the final thanks to the dreaded penalty shootout, while Premier League rivals Manchester City are yet to win it.
