PULISIC MISSES OUT ON DERBY WIN

United States of America (USA) national team talisman Christian Pulisic was a major absentee as Chelsea claimed a big London Derby win at the home of Arsenal at the weekend.Pulisictested positive to Covid-19 last week and was ruled out of the Arsenal game played at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday evening.

USA player Pulisic had started the new Premier League campaign on a fantastic note as he was responsible for the second goal when Chelsea beat Crystal Palace at home to claim a London Derby victory. The Blues thrashed Palace 3-0 at home to lay down a marker for the new league season in the English top flight.

Apart from USA international Pulisic, Marcos Alonso and Trevor Chalobah also scored for Thomas Tuchel’s team against the Eagles. Chalobah made his Premier League debut for the Blues in thewin over Palace and he gave a good account of himself by getting a goal from outside the opponents’ box.

Chelsea had no problems when the faced Arsenal without USA national team player Pulisic at the weekend following their 2-0 win. The away victory over the Gunners ensured that Chelsea joined Liverpool at the top of the Premier League table.

The Blues scored the two goals in the first half to see off Arsenal conveniently and end of their run of three straight wins in the competition. The Gunners had won the last three meetings between the two sides in all competitions before they met at the Emirates Stadium for a week two encounter in the Premier League.

RomeluLukaku is back at Chelsea for his second spell and he scored the opening goal for his new team before the impressive Reece James added a second goal for the visitors. The excellent away win over the Gunners ensured that the Blues and Liverpool have an identical record of six points and five goals at the top of the table. The two teams meet at Anfield for a week three league encounter this weekend.
